Upon City Council’s request, city staff began framing the methodology for a South Illinois Avenue Corridor Study that would take into account the multifaceted aspect of development along the transportation corridor. The creation of a gateway into the City of Oak Ridge would provide the city with more than just anticipated land use types or zone districts. A formal gateway would immediately establish the aesthetic character and quality of life which typifies the Oak Ridge community to those who enter the city via the Pellissippi Parkway.
